The Red Noon

In the year 2398, global warming raised, the earth got closer to the sun, and the human race stopped inventing new or discovering new. Instead, the humans learned to live in the mess they created. The last tree on the planet was preserved in a small town in Canada. There lived a 15-year-old in the town with his parents. He was a pretty white boy named Harlin. Blond, blue eyes, sad-looking eyes, cheerful smile and was 5’8 tall. After returning from school on a Friday at noon, Harlin goes directly to sleep. He had his weekend planned with his girlfriend. He sleeps while thinking about it. Time passes by. When he wakes up, he notices a red tint on the wall across from the window. He was confused so he goes to the window and opens the blind. The volcanic heat makes him sweat right away! All he can do is close his eyes and block the heat from hitting his eyes. He immediately puts the blinds on and steps aside. After washing his face, he goes down to see if his family was doing okay. To his surprise, nobody was down there. He took plenty of water, and food and rushed back to his room. He wears clothes that could keep his cold. He prepares some health kit and packs every important stuff in his backpack. He then rushes to the museum where the last tree was preserved, he carefully took the tree and placed it in his oxygen cylinder. He did so as he was running out of oxygen cylinders and knew he would need more of them later. He runs to see his girlfriend but doesn't find her. Not just her, he doesn't find anybody. It was more like the sun gulped everybody in and he was the only survivor. A few weeks pass by and Harlin runs out of food and water. He made himself a shelter underground where he could stay without burning down. He had to make his way out on the surface again to fetch some food and water. As he does this he was almost pulled towards the sky, more like towards the sun. He keeps strong and carefully gets all the food and water which might last for another week. More time passed by, it was day 20. Harlin grew impatient and aggressive. He abandoned his self-made base and walked out in frustration. He goes out and was again pulled towards the sun but this time, he held the ground tight and screamed. As he screamed, an aircraft came down from space. It lands in front of him and a few alien-like creatures came out of it. 2 of those creature takes their mask off. They were his parents. He runs towards them and hugs them. All of them get in the aircraft and fly to space. In the aircraft, he finds his friends and his girlfriend…
